Cupcake #206 **sold**

Today's butter cream cupcake is dotted with sprinkles of every variety. I'm not sure if they are worth eating, but I can imagine a child picking them off and rearranging them to build a scene of their own. The background is a poppy red also covered in sprinkles. Enjoy your day!

Cupcake #205

This little cupcake is topped with a pool of maple syrup and a pecan. Surrounded by a blue that is best described as faded blue jeans. I've always liked the combination of warm brown and blue. Scott is about to hustle back out to the studio to start on tomorrow's cupcake, we may get back on schedule yet!

Cupcake #204 **sold**

Triple cherries on chocolate, if one is good, three has to be better! Surrounded by a mossy yellow green, because it looks so pretty with chocolate brown. The cup is edged with a bit of deep pink to show off the cherries. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and we'll see you on Monday!

Cupcake #203 **sold**

This little cupcake has the blues, between the purple blue blackberry icing, and the cool turquoise blue background! Topped with a fresh blackberry, it would be a sweet addition to a cool blue beach house! Enjoy!

Cupcake #202 **sold**

Well, we are running a little late today, but here it is! Vanilla icing and those wonderful little silver balls top today's cupcake. Surrounded by a bright spring green, this would look great paired with a blue background, or even pink! Enjoy, and be on the lookout for tomorrow's cupcake, it will probably be posted early in the morning!

Cupcake #201 **sold**

Today's cupcake features a little bee perched upon a bed of coconut. Scott, a graduate of University of Georgia, can hear his fellow Georgia alumni grumbling about the symbolism here, but hey, we do the best we can! The background is a dusky purple to compliment the yellows. The schedule of the daily cupcake will be a little random for the next few days as we will be "on the road again," but we'll still be putting them up every day! Stay tuned cupcake fans!

Cupcake #200 **sold**

200 CUPCAKES! Two hundred! That is a lot of cupcakes, not to mention calories! I had a few paintings to choose from as Scott is trying to get a little ahead of the game, and I chose this one as number 200 because I just think it is simply marvelous. Purple, green and orange make of a very sophisticated secondary color triad, and the lighting in this piece is beautiful. Enjoy!
And if you have a minute to surf, check out Scott's Zazzle site, I've put up a dozen or so new cupcake fridge magnets. They make sweet gifties, will glamorize your fridge, and will add thousands to the resale value of your home...OK, maybe not so much the last one. Here it is: http://www.zazzle.com/scottscupcakes

Cupcake #199 **sold**

On the brink of 200 cupcakes, this is the oddest one yet. We picked up the model at the Atlanta Cupcake factory on Saturday, and thought we had chosen the prettiest one in the case. But on close inspection we realized the truth...this is a chocolate, bacon, peanut butter cupcake. Yes folks, that crumbly stuff on the top is bacon. Of course I had to sample it right after Scott painted it, I mean how do you write about such a thing without tasting it? My verdict? Really, really weird. In fact most of the bacon part wound up in the trash, but the tiny scoop of peanut butter icing on top was divine...or perhaps that was just by comparison. This would be a terrific conversation piece to add to any collection!

Cupcake #198 **sold**

Today's cupcake, I've been told, is an amaretto pineapple cupcake. That sounds perfectly wonderful to me! The top is sliced off, and a layer of pineapple spread in the middle, then topped with cream and more pineapple. The colors in this piece are very subtle, perfect if you want a cupcake, just not one that is too frou frou, or girly! A great choice for the more traditional kitchen, or even the office!
Today we are starting a new promotion at The Daily Cupcake! It's tell a friend week! Until Friday June 25th, if you tell a friend about this site, and they buy a cupcake, you will get $20 off your next cupcake. Just make sure they mention your name when they email me to purchase. Cupcake #197 **sold**

Chocolate and strawberries, always a favorite! Three tiny fresh strawberries crown today's cupcake, sitting on a mound of vanilla frosting with a splash of chocolate glaze. The background is a pale celery green, a fresh color that pairs nicely with chocolate brown. Be sure to check in tomorrow for a new cupcake!

Cupcake #196 **sold**

Cupcake #196 is pure 50's Florida to me! There's nothing like hot pink and turquoise to take you there. The sliver of yellow cake completes this quirky version of a primary triad, being red, yellow, and blue. I have to admit, this cupcake looks about as natural as a plastic flamingo, right down to the red dye #5 cherry on top! Perhaps we can pull Scott back into the direction of a granola cupcake tomorrow!?

Cupcake #195 **sold**

We're back with a caramel cherry cupcake. I just love the way the light shines off the caramel and cherries! Surrounded by a soft baby pink, this may be the sweetest shower gift ever! Or even better, hanging in a retro pink kitchen! The possibilities are endless. You'll know if you have the right spot for this, either alone, with a mate, or piled together in a group. Cheers!

Cupcake #194

Swirls of lemon and lime top today's cupcake, all sitting on a pale pink background. The combination of pink and green is a complementary discord, that is a pair of complementary colors, in this case red and green, with the red lightened to a similar or lighter value than the green. All that technical stuff aside, it's simply sweet!
We had to post today's cupcake early, as we are heading off to Old Town Art Fair in Chicago. We won't be posting cupcakes again until we get back home, you'll see cupcake #195 probably on Tuesday at noon. Don't forget about us as we take this little break, and cross your fingers for a good show in Chicago!

Cupcake #193 **sold**

Today's cupcake brings a fresh burst of pure color! I love the combination of pink and orange, which is an analogous discord for the color theory junkies out there. Topped with a delicious little pile of fresh blueberries, this cupcake is looking for a good home.

Cupcake #192 **sold**

What a beauty, the Black Forest cupcake! The top of the cupcake was sliced off, and it's filled with cherries and custard. A chocolate glaze is poured over the top, pure heaven! The background is a rich buttery yellow, although it looks a little pale in the photograph. The perfect piece for the chocolate lover in your life! These make great wedding and shower gifts, and don't just put them in the kitchen, how about the nursery? Or the dining room!

Cupcake #191 **sold**

How we got to cupcake #191 without doing a simple chocolate cupcake with sprinkles is amazing to me! We've had everything from peanut butter and jelly to mango, it just shows the possibilities are pretty much endless! The super dark chocolate is dotted with a rainbow of color, and the background is a pretty chartreuse green that matches my fiestaware perfectly, so don't fiddle for long, or it will be hanging in my kitchen! Cheers!

Cupcake #190

We stopped by the Atlanta Cupcake Factory on the way home from setting up my booth at the Virginia Highland Summerfest yesterday, and this is one of the yummies we brought home, The peanut butter cup cupcake! Dark chocolate, a big scoop of peanut butter icing, topped with a sprinkle of chocolate, and a peanut butter cup. All surrounded by what I can only describe as '57 Chevy turquoise! Enjoy, and if you're in Atlanta, stop by Summerfest!

Cupcake #189 **sold**

It's amazing how a little fancy icing can turn a little lemon cupcake into something resembling the Taj Mahal! Surrounded by a soft lavender to complement the yellow, this little piece is sure to brighten someones day! Cheers!

Cupcake #188 **sold**

Now this has to be pure bliss, the peanut butter and jelly cupcake. There are many little things I love about this cupcake, starting with how the light reflects off the cake itself. The light shining through the jelly, and how Scott portrayed the texture of the peanut butter is lovely. All surrounded by a pea green that shows off the warm tones of the cupcake. So grown up, yet so reminiscent of kindergarten at the same time!

Cupcake #187 **sold**

Mounds of rich cream cheese icing top this cherry cupcake. All dressed up in a fancy pink paper cup, and topped with a fresh cherry, you just know it's going to be good! The bright red background leans just a bit towards the orange side just to show off the pretty shades of pink in the cherry. If you have a bit of red in your kitchen, this one is certainly for you, or powder room, or office...you get the idea! Have a great day!

Cupcake #186 **sold**

Today's little chocolate bomb is sprinkled with sugar crystals and topped with candied violets, (or pansies?) The icing has formed a shiny shell on the outside, keeping it rich and gooey on the inside! The background is a mustard yellow to complement the purple in the flowers. The neutral earthy tones of this piece will make it work in the even the most traditional color scheme.
